Front Automatic Tranny Console Bracket Question

Question gang - The three piece automatic transmission console kit from AMD - - what is the front bracket with the 2 bolt holes for? I got the middle one for the shifter (obviously) and the rear for the 2 screws in the compartment......can't find a good pic that defines what the front one is for??? - TJ

They are for the shifter linkage.

DO you have a closer shot of the linkage? I am replacing a console that was from a different year. There was no bracket there but the car shifted fine.

I found several kits on line. Looks like you have to buy the spring seperately.
