Question for those in the know; should Gran Coupe Rocker moldings be chrome? Also, is there special molding clips specific to the Gran coupe?
TIA

The 70 Gran Coupe molding was different, but still argent silver. I believe the molding clips are the same. See page from MCC below:

I think the moldings are just screwed on with no clips.
These moldings are heavy; I don't see the two screw holes on either end holding this entire piece on. Also, there are channels in the back to slide the molding onto some sort of clips.

These are what came off my 71 gran coupe. Unfortunately they put holes in them to keep them mounted. Clips were gone. Almost 100 % those are correct for a 71 gran coupe. If you find clips, let me know.

I have a 1970 set of these, off a 1970 Barracuda 318 (2-barrel) car. They are likewise solid aluminum, possibly extruded. They are sturdy, for sure.

No don't nobody get insulted, but Plymouths were assembled and built cheaper than Dodges. The factory probably didn't use any clips on the Barracuda like the Challenger, they just stuck them on with 5 screws per side and called it done. And the 71 mouldings John posted indicates they didn't space them with any care to equal distance (sadly very typical on our Mopars).

No, the barracuda did have clips. They were on the back, just rusted out. There were 2 screws on each end, and 4 or 5 clips. I have a few somewhere have to dig them out.

John, are they the metal ones with the funky "tail"? Something like this? Good to learn something new.

I am not positive, but those don't look wide enough. I will go see if I still have the rusty ones.

But it's similar to what your taking about, correct? Trying to gain knowledge here. Thanks for checking!

The clip has to be at least 1 3/4 inches, which I can not find. Then it would snap in the holes on the rocker.

I believe they are clips like that, but bigger. They would snap in with the 2 screws on the ends.

I have no idea, but they kinda look like the picture of the one on eBay but twisted into the moulding.
