Hello all,
after having bought a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda last year I should introduce myself.
I´m 51 years old now and am quite new to driving muscle cars, but had already some fullsize cars (78 Lincoln Continental Mark V, 76 Cadillac Sedan deVille and a 73 Imperial LeBaron).
As the Imperial wasn´t enough (and still needs some love) a friend told me about the Barracuda in very good shape, which was sold in the Netherlands.
This is one of the export-models, that had been shipped to Europe in parts, then and was finished and quality inspected at Automontage Schinznach (today "AMAG") in Switzerland.
Originally it had a 318ci, a new dual exhaust was fitted in 1987.
In 2000 or so, it was sold to the Netherlands and later got a 360ci Crate-engine, now everything is either original or restored.
So I had to be quick, bought it with the help of a friend and got it shipped to Austria.
The guys at the shop changed the blinkers to orange front and rear and checked other typical points that needed attention for the registration, as the Netherlandish authorities are much more easy-going and didn´t cever are for red turning lights.
As it will be inspected by the Austrian traffic authority soon to get a "historic registration" (and most of the time they are quite picky and in a bad mood...) I am hoping to drive it legally on the road soon.
