Both the interior lock levers on my 1970 Barracuda are missing their screws. I'm sure I have them around, somewhere, but I'm not sure what they look like. Can someone post an image of the OEM screw that affixes the lock lever to the post in the interior? If I cannot find them, I may soon be posting a WTB add for a couple of them.

The OEM screw looks looks like that? I don't think I've seen any of those dancing around.

You do know about bagging and tagging? 😜

I do. But when these screws were removed, it was only supposed to be a temporary thing. That was..... 20+ years ago. Come to think of it, this car is my longest-standing, oldest and most expertly procrastinated never-ending task. I think I need a therapist.

As a tip, don’t over tighten them because doing so tends to pinch/squeeze the lock lever together and becomes a real pain to remove it later. Anyway, this has been my experience on my car once, never over torqued them since.

No you OK and I think I'm OK.
Over the years when apart. I lost 2 bolts, washer and a nut. It was long before zip lock bags. I used a bucket.
1 Transmission cross-member bolt 2 Drive shaft saddle bolt. Then when I was assembling theses item fell into a black hole and never seen again. 3 rear shock washer and a nut washer assembly for the brake booster mount.
It sometimes amazes me. How you are looking for something and it's not there. The next thing you know it shows up just where you left it!

Oooh, I had a light bulb moment.

Where do lost screws go? Why, the center console and the ash tray, of course, of course. I just looked. I found a few gems, but a swing and a miss.

Light bulb fizzled out.

The Roseville one is close but doesn't look like it was machined exactly. Also, I think the originals have a captured lock washer but I don't remember 100%.

Roseville is definitely an after market, but if you don't have one...
Agreed. I may have to buy ebay lock levers (with screws) just to get the OEM ones. Looks is more important to me than function. Besides, the levers stay put and operate the locks without the screws, they just flop around a little bit in the handle well.

Thanks to all who posted, I was not aware the screw is so unique. I looked again, through several collections of fasteners, yesterday, and nary the screw was found. I may go with Roseville, they got good stuff. But their shopping cart suggests a $10 handling fee on top of shipping. Hmm... I may need to buy some other items, too, to offset that some.

Thank you for this. Someone put a sheet metal screw in the lever of my passenger door before I bought it (purchased my car in 1982) and I have been looking for the right screw for years. I even bought new levers online and despite the picture showing it with the screws, there were no screws with them upon delivery. I’m ordering them right now. That sheet metal screw has been making me crazy. 👍

Hey, what did you end up paying for shipping? I've not pulled the trigger, because just ordering the one screw seems relatively expensive after shipping. The shopping cart suggests there is a $10 handling fee, on top of the shipping costs. I'm waiting until I have a longer shopping list.
