What is the best way to stretch the spring so I can attach if to hinge

I hook the back part of the spring where it belongs, then use a rope, paracord, dog leash, etc to pull the other end towards the front. Might be easier with a friend.

I do the same thing, only I use a pair of vise grips locked TIGHT on the hook. I usually end up with a bruise on the top of my thigh a day or so later from the front edge of the front fender where I prop myself.

Yes, am going to try it this way. Will wait till I have a helper as it seems a two man job. Only doing it as my challenger had a Fiberglass hood and I have located a mint steel one, I took the springs off with the fiberglass hood as didn’t want to put two much stress on the hood
