Hello everyone! Just picked up the 70 Challenger R/T below yesterday. VIN decode has it as a 383 car, but it has a 440 / 4 barrel / 4 speed in it. Runs and drives great!

I'd like to find information on the build, especially the engine internals. Unfortunately, it didn't come with any documentation. It has registration stickers from New York from 2022, so I assume that's the last time it was driven before making its way to Texas. I bought it from a dealer, who asked the consignor where he got it. Apparently he bought from a dealer (location unknown) who got it from a trade.

Only other hint I have is the super cool placard on the dash stating it was in the "Street Machines, Rochester, NY 11th Annual Outdoor Auto Show" in 1985.

Anyways- if anyone has any details on the build, or knows a prior owner- let me know!

Very nice Challenger. Post a picture of the fender tag and I guaranty someone on this site can decode it for you and tell you what it was prior to the transplanted 440.

Welcome to FEBO from the desert! 70 purple Challenger has to be one of the best! Hopefully the 440 runs well regardless what the internals are and it is fun to drive!
