Is there a difference in steering columns from '70-'74?

Are all E-body power steering columns the same from '70-'74?
My '70 Challenger was missing the column when I bought it, and I'm not sure if any '70-'74 E-body column will interchange.
Thanks! :icon_thumright:

The 70 was unique as were a lot of parts , the 70 used an interlock rod from the trans to rotate the collar for the for the locking mechanism , 71-74 uses a spring loaded collar at the top , so yes the 71-74 column will work OK & fit the same but will look different & will operate differently with the finger tab to turn the lock all the way back & release the key

To answer this we should know if you have a column shift or floor shift in your car. 74 columns are also unique to 74 so if you are going to look for another column and are going to change years go with a 71-73 and be aware the steering box couplers also changed in the later years
