ok,

So I may have narrowed down my issues. The black accessory and red battery wires in the ignition switch connector are making my car die if they move. After it dies I will have no power at the switch for a short period of time. What could cause this? The switch and dash harness are brand new! Also lost my instrument lights.

Should the wire connectors be able to swivel in the connector?

I'm stumped at what could be the issue but I know where it is. I'm guessing not a great connection is doing it??

Thanks!

I had this happen also. Pull the connector apart and make sure all the wires/pins are secure in the connector body. I had one that wasn't locking in place in the connector and would just get pushed back when the connector halves were pushed together, sometimes it had power, sometimes not. Also, unplug the bulkhead connectors from the firewall and look for obvious faults, etc..

Year one. Now I am seeing an issue with my ammeter discharging. Replaced the engine harness too. Alt is good and so is the voltage regulator.

Reading 12.46 at the batt and alt at idle.

Any ideas? Any grounds I should be looking for?

Figured it out. Colors didn't match the old harness. Blue wire on the new harness wasn't hooked up and needed to be.
