K-Frame Identification

Hi, I have a '73 Challenger and I'm trying to confirm that my K-Frame is original to the car or even an original Mopar part. I don't see numbers on the front and center. I only see numbers on the right motor mount. Can someone confirm this is a Mopar number? If so, can you tell me what the number means? 604M361

I can't comment on those particular numbers but it looks to be a legit, along with the factory front sway bar. I know on earlier years they welded a metal "coin" on the front with IIRC the last 2 digits of the part number on it. But I would think offhand that there was only one k-frame needed in 73 since everything offered was a small block by then so maybe no need for the coin any longer.

It looks like an original to me. Take a stiff wire brush to the forward facing surface just under where the crank pulley would be and look for a hand stamped 4 digit number. That number would be a date code for when the engine assembly was attached. Your whole car has similar numbers like the one you show in the picture on every stamped body and chassis part and I can only guess at what those numbers are but I know they don’t really mean anything to us the consumer.

I thought that I read at one point that the washer welded on the K-Frame meant it was a 340 car or a hi-po car (something like that)

What is the actual concern you have ? That the original engine will work with it ? As said only one K-frame offered that year.
Any LA K-frame will work.

I want to sell it so I want to give the prospective buyers the most amount of details on it and I'd love to find casting stamps and numbers for verification.
