there is a tiny nut inside the center of the knobs , you need a tiny standard screwdriver to get in there

Isee that on the clock reset, But the odometer does not looks like just a shaft. Do I just turn it to loosen it?

What year is the dash , 70 is different from the other 4 years ,
if the speedo knob comes through the clear face plate it may not remove at all , in 70 there is a cable & the knob is remote . those have a set screw inside the knob to remove it

You shouldn't have to remove the knobs on the later style clusters to get the plastic face off to polish it. It's just held on with some small metal push-in clips. Are you trying to polish it while it's still installed in the car?

speedo knob

I wanted to change the knob on the speedo and also take the lense off to polish it.
It is a 70 that goes through the lense. I have the lense polished now but would like to change the knob if I can
Thanks Skip

1970 didn't have a knob that went through the clear plastic lense.

This is a 71-74 cluster. The knobs go through the plastic. 1970's did not. If you have the later style cluster in your car, I don't know how the odometer knob comes off. I tried pullin git off but didn't want to break anything. I just left it on when I had the cluster rebuilt.

knob

Thanks took off the clock reset had to grind down a screw driver but workd great. Will try again on the odometer knob tomorrow,If they put it on has to be a way to remove it. I will try with some heat. I have a set of replacement knobs to make it a matching set.
Thanks again for the help

I don't think I would be heating the knob , I would remove the guage & see if it disconnects inside .

Ok finished the change over of the knobs today. The odometer is a push fit .The shaft is reversed barbed .If you hold the shaft behind the knob with a pair of needle nose pliers and pull on the knob it pulls out.
Thanks for the help
