All jokes aside my right rear axel has been leaking ever since I got my chally... We it took it to a machinist, in hopes to fix the leak. and I've replaced the inner and outer seals, but to no avail, the little bastard still leakes.
It's really getting on my nerves. I hear it's a common problem with mopars. The fluid drips slowly but is all over my rear brake :-| and my garage floor.

Is my best bet to just try and buy a replacement or to patch it somehow? And where the f can I find one??? Btw it's a 8 3/4

Just a simple question, but you're guy did take care not to cut the new seals with the axle splines when he put it in right?

The other issue I have seen lots is when hitting the seal with a hammer & driver to seat the seal into the housing you can pop the tension spring off the inside of the seal , I pack theback of theseal with grease to help retan the spring . I would inspect it & see where the oil is coming from , if it is the lip of the seal or bypassing it around the outside of the seal ,

Check to see if there is a small groove worn in the axle shaft where the seal rides. If there is a groove, the fluid might be leaking past. There may be a collar that can be pressed over the bad spot.

My harmonic balancer had a groove worn it it from the front seal. I bought a repair sleave to cover the groove.
