As some of you know, this event benefits the Texas School for the Blind & Visually Impaired. As part of that, we are organizing an area specifically for thier attendees.

It is called the Hands On A Mopar area. The intention is to have vehicles availalbe for them to touch and feel. They will have very soft gloves to do this with.

We would love to have many different cars in place for them to "see". If you would like to include yours, please let us know by adding your name and car to this thread==> http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/...59#post1047859

WOW!!!

Ok, it took most of the day to get over my MOPAR Hangover

Seriously folks, yesterday was incredible and Capital City Modern Mopar wants to thank all of you for making this such an awesome event. Car counts range between 120 & 135 cars. The kids from the school for the Blind had an incredible time. There were some very touching (no pun) scenes though-out the day with them. One of our attendees brought his Superbird and insisted that it be placed in the hands-on area! He said he heard about the event and brought this one out of his collection specifically with the intention of sharing it with the kids.

Again, thanks to everyone for supporting this event.

Event Tshirts are still available for $8 each if anyone is interested. All proceeds continue to go to the school for the blind programs.

I will share photos once we make sure we have all the releases from the school in order.

Txswimdad! I was there... and you're right Im still Mopar crazy after this weekend!

There was one moment when the little boy was feeling the front and the tail of the superbird that really got to me. He got so excited when someone explained to him the history of the car. If only he could've seen the smile on my face! Another cool part, a Jeep started up and drove by, and he goes hey! that was a jeep wasn't it?

So awesome! Had a great time (I also won 100 bucks :))

I definitely remember that, too! I was the one explaining the history of the bird to that group.

It really was interesting how the young man picked out Trent's antique Jeepster as it drove by.

Congrats on the $100! The long distance drive winner (Devin from Missisippi) went to the Georgetown Wendys Saturday night show & won a trophy there too along with the 50/50 from that show. He made it all the way home on his winnings from the two shows. How cool is that?

BTW, we go to the Cars & Coffee on the last Sunday of the month. (10am start time) You are invited to join the local Mopar clubs there, too. We have the area called "Mopar Corner". Check out the classic club at www.Mopar.org

Ok.. that's right I remember you explaining that to them!
and that's awesome! I'd love to get more involved. I'm still a beginner with all this, so it's nice to meet people in the same area as me that know a little more than I do and are willing to help. lol.
Which car did Devin own? I can't remember. That's awesome... If it was me, I would go all the time. Its like a free vacation! And you come home with a trophy too

Thanks for coming. There is no way I could meet everybody that day but I'm sure we can meet one of these days. Devin is the Army guy who had the newer Super Bee in the hands on area.

You are welcome to hang out w/ Capital City Modern Mopar as well. We really don't enforce the "modern" part of that and there are no dues for membership, so its really not a commitment. Just send an email to C2M2-subscribe@yahoogroupsDOTcom and include the Mopar model that you have in the body of the email just for spam control and you will be in.
