First; Welcome to FEBO to Joerg and his beautiful 1970 Barracuda which he bought as a car originally imported to Switzerland in parts and assembled at a factory there.
Questions came up regarding the factory tag and dash tag that was on the car as assembled in Europe. They used an "8" in place of where the "B" Hamtramck designation would normally be. In my opinion the car was built in Switzerland and it looks like that is their designation for the origin of the car. He now owns the car, living in Austria.
I found the website of the Swiss company (Automontage Schinznach (today "AMAG"). It reviews that cars from various foreign countries were exported to Switzerland in parts and assembled there. They are building a data base of cars built there along with a production history from 1949 through 1972. The main site has pics of various cars build there (late 50's Chrysler and a Duster).
It looks like the Swiss factory did issue their own serial number and engine number
Looks to be an intriguing site to check out the history of US cars and others assembled there!
