I'm restoring my second Mopar after years of GM and Ford. My current project is a 1971 Dodge Challenger 340 4spd... EV2,E55,D21 non R/T which would have been in 1970 the A66 option. These were called "Insurance Dodgers". The car has been off the road for 42 yrs, taken apart and laid in a garage. The entire driveline is complete and all matching VIN's. The body had 2 small areas of rust on the bottom of both 1/4's about 4x6", no prior collision damage or Bondo anywhere and the VIN's on the rad support and cowl are clear and matching. The car is stripped waiting for paint and the remainder of parts restored and waiting to go back together. I will be asking the forum for some advice and verification as I continue.

Some additional photos taken during progress. Broadcast sheet was still behind the back seat in perfect shape.

Thanks, car is supposed to go in for paint in two weeks. Everything else is ready to bolt back in. The problem is I have to go in for Rotator Cuff surgery 1st week of July and a 3 month rehab. This will slow things down to a crawl.

Looks like you made good progress.
Before you let it sit temporarily. Maybe you already did.I would use a metal prep. I use

SEM 69501 Rust Mort - 1 Gallon.

By a gallon you will need it. There are some water based products, I can't recommend.I haven't used any someone may know of one that is good.

SEM 69501 Rust Mort - 1 Gallon

at $140 considering an other product.
