When installing lock cylinders into E-body door handles.....does the pawl/lever for the lock-rod, face towards the front or rear of the car/door?

My drivers just took a poop so soon I'll be replacing them. Where did ya get your new locks.

Ebay. They came with different pawls, so I switched to the originals.

I didn't have any pics of mine, but found one of these originals. Looks like the pawl is pointing to the mounting stud, if that's the one you are asking about.

Thank you. Those shop manuals are decent, at best, when it comes to illustrations. I have all of them from 64-74.
