Hi guys I am going to do away with my 90 degree oil filter adapter on my 340 and need to find an oil filter plate / shield. I don't know where to get one. I didn't see one at Summit or Jegs. Do I need the shield? See Pics.

Also, I have the pipe plug screwed into where the oil filter goes and I saw in a post that it is suppose to be there but I was wondering why? What is it's purpose or should I remove it? Does it really matter?

As always thanks again.
Dave

Yes, you need the plug there.

I just did a Perma Cool unit on my V6 Dodge truck which is the 318 minus 2 cylinders. Very easy to do, discard the big adapter plate and just use the small one that hs the fittings screwed into it. Tuffest part is to figure out where to mount the filter.

Check for casting flash inside the parts.
