The 70 RT 440 vert sold for $71.5K (my kind of Challenger)

The 71 6.1L sold for $82.5K and the 71 plum crazy 528 went for $80K

Well I hate to say it but the purple 71 is badass and I would buy that all day long over the stock vert which looks "shaggy" in comparison. The 6.1 71 is too personal and not to everyone's tastes. It will be bouncing around the auction circuit for a long time to come.

That said, you could not built either of those 71's for what they sold for.

I agree with your premise; the resto mods are bad ass.
If I were in the market for that type of car, the plum crazy car would be my favorite. It would also blow the doors off the original 440 vert and look cool while doing it.
The resto mods would probably be more reliable, albeit they cost a fortune to buy or build.

I always like the stock Challengers for myself; the resto mods would be wild rides though

The Boss had a wild ride. Bought it for 120k, sold for 90 I believe.
