It's on the firewall of the 73's and the aircleaner of the 74's. IIRC it is attached by vacuum lines between the carb and the charcoal canister.

Found a close up of the valve. The upper port has "DIST" and the lower has "CARB".
Also found a picture of the firewall behind the valve. You should have a rectangular cutout where the valve goes.

It is plumbed in between the carb and the vacuum advance can on the distributor. It delays the vacuum advance for emissions reasons.
