Has anyone ordered the new passion 5 speed? Have you received it yet? I have been on the waiting list for over a year now and after talking to Jamie the other day it looks like it's going to be another year till I see one.

My build is coming to a close minus the transmission and I need to make a tough choice of where to turn next. Is there anyone who has one and would be willing to sell or trade there setup? I know I am REALLY grasping here but I figure this would be the best place to look.

He has not yet sold one. Nobody has one, despite all the hype when they were announced several years back. He jumped the gun on announcing it and for whatever reason has not yet been able to deliver. Look into other options if you want a 5-speed prior to the birth of your great-grandchildren.

A few people do have them from what I've read on other forums. But there is a very long wait.

I know of 2 that have them , 1 is a personal friend & is driving his & loves it , I would toss in an 833 OD for a while & wait it out definatly worth it , nothing else measures up for strength & drivability !

He had to jump the gun because McCleod announced theirs as a true bolt in. From Jamie has said he wasn't ready to announce his until he was ready to go into production, but McCleod forced his hand. From what I understand McCleod has yet to build a trans for any of the Big Three like they said they were going to.

Then Jamie kept hitting parts and vendor snags. He wanted a trans out there that people weren't going to install and immediately start bad mouthing. He took a kick in the balls, but because of the good will he's been able to build in the hobby people just waited it out expecting to get a quality product. To me, the fact that he had to spend a little clout and loose some of that good will to make sure his customers were getting a product that actually did what he said it would makes me tip his hat to him.

Like Chryco said, drop an 833 in it and be patient.

Thanks for the info, guess that's what I will have to do. Really don't want to go with any other 5 speed setup.

I do appreciate Mr. Passon's commitment to providing a good-quality product, and I understand all too well his problems with a reliable supplier of quality parts. However, allowing someone else to force his hand and announce (or start selling) something too early is a formula for disaster, especially when the company that prompted that decision did not have product ready to ship anyhow. He made a bad call; it doesn't make him a bad guy by any measure but it's regrettable from a customer-frustration standpoint. I'm sure it's caused him many a headache over the past few years.

I'll agree with you.

I ordered my ISIS Power 3 cell kit on April 14th and I still have not received it. They tell me that one of their vendors has something on back order that they are waiting for. I'm glad I am not in a position of needing it on my project yet.

07-10-14 . I need to update this comment as ISIS power just gave me a confirmation shipping # that my system was just shipped and I should receive it in a couple of days. The back ordered part that they needed to complete my order came in a couple of days ago so they could finish building my 3 cell system.
