Killing time this morning - waiting for a late morning meeting.
missing on my cars I once had...

Over the years I look back at all the many cars I have owned - I have to admit, only a couple of those cars have had the actual options parts from the factory.

Comparing to now - I see options are everything to most buyers! I get it - looking at todays prices.

For many of us back in the day, times were totally different: In a BIG way -
some cars 7 - 8 years old you would pick up for $100 in the early 70's - we were happy to find a car that mostly worked! didn't care about blowing smoke, leaking oil, broken switches, no heater, windows that would not open, slow leaking tires, bad exhaust. When your young, working on limited minimum wage funds - back then it seemed most of us had shi...t shakers in not caring about rusted out pig wagons!

When in the middle 70's I would have a decent car along with other friends. It seemed a frenzie was going on here in Detroit - was all about the high performance parts to add for more horsepower! Headers, exhaust, wheels with large tires, air shocks, carburetors!
Many Dragways just about everywhere - maybe $2 for a timed run down the track...

In the 80's - 10 year old used cars cost only a few hundred. Most did not want the big gas engines. A bit more in the 90's - until late 90's it seemed to bring a renewed interest in collecting ... bringing back in season - you dont see many actual original condition cars. many people like myself got the bug to have owned and brought back many Mopar cars. Was a learning experience with the fun after rewards!

The thing for me that sucks now, is getting older losing the drive needed to work on these cars. Also I dont have my storage any more ( did have for 10 years close to 4 yrs ago ) which means no place to store and work on em.

Anyways Im keeping the MOPAR THING alive owning a Gen 3 Challenger. Was my wifes idea, to sell off my cars and buy a modern car with a good warranty - so she can drive it to have fun too!
