radio wiring

Does anyone know what the violet (18V) wire is connected internally on the radio? My Barracuda came with the 3 speaker dash but the radio was long gone when I bought it. I currently have a AM radio that I will have converted to modern electronics including FM. I would like to still use the original wiring to connect to the converted radio if possible. I need to know what the "18V" wire is doing. Is it giving 12V, ground or whatever, for the crossover. If anyone knows where or who to get info from, that would be greatly appreciated.

That is helpful. When I get the radio upgraded to modern technology, it should be pretty easy to reconnect. Thank you EW1BH27.
