Hello everyone,

I just joined here today (I'm also on the A-Body and B-Body forums). I work for Trim Parts now so with that and classes starting soon, I don't have much time to buy and sell original parts on those forums like I used to.

As some of you may or may not know, Trim Parts bought a business called "First Place Auto Products". Unfortunately, Fritz died a mere two days after the buyout and as part of my internship, I've been putting FPAP back together during the transition. Two guys here at work were able to figure out most of the parts before I came on board. We want to try and offer his louver pin posts and lanyards but there's a problem I found; the originals I pulled from a set of 'Cuda louvers are 4" long, the studs that Fritz left behind are 2 1/2" long. Does this sound right?

I know the 'Cuda and Challenger louvers themselves are different but are the posts different too? If these short posts aren't for an E-body, are there any ideas what they could be for? I know they aren't for the Mopar hood pins...

Any help is appreciated, thank you for reading!

I haven't had louvers in a very long time. I don't remember them being 4 inches long. Chryco, who is on the board, should know. He has worked with the window louvers.

I would check with Dales Cuda shop , they have reproduction louvers available for all E bodies & new LX Challengers .
I do have a set of original Chall louvers , I know of a lot of the factory louver cars & do not recall a significant difference in the pin lengths . Otherwise I cannot help much

Might be able to email Rick Ehrenberg at Mopar Action and see if he's got a service manual or OEM part numbers that can be prepared. I think he's a member here, but he's never posted.

Somebody else here where I work called DCS about something else and the experience was unpleasant to say the least. Perhaps because they are FPAP's direct competitor?

I'll give them both a try anyhow, nothing ventured nothing gained!

I just got off the phone with Rick, he has blueprints for the E-Body cars but not for the components such as the louvers or pin posts.

Does anyone here have an E-Body with the original louvers on it? I know very few cars from from the factory with louvers but if anyone has a car with those I would be very interested if they could measure the length of the pin posts.
