I recieved a reproduction trunk mat for my '74 Barracuda, which I'll be returning tomorrow, and wanted to post a few photos here as I couldn't find any accurate photos beforehand. The mat is manufactured by a company entitled "REM Automotive" and although prolific, isn't producing what I think is a remotely accurate or durable mat. I have an original for reference and this repro is completely dissimilar to it. The pattern is wrong, the material is wrong, the texture is wrong and the cut is wrong. If this isn't bad enough, the mat comes with a printed warning advising that any cleaning agents used could remove the print pattern. Buyer beware. Please let me know if anyones aware of an accurate trunk mat on the market.

The pattern does look odd on the REM mat you are showing.
My mat is from REM and was purchased in 1999 from YearOne. Installed pic and a closeup of pattern below.
Quite different pattern.

I put one of those in my 71 Challenger convertible. Pretty much all that is available. Either the warning about chemicals wasn't with it, or I never read it. I got some kind of crud on it and cleaned it with Purple Stuff degreaser. Yeah.....heed the warnings! :BangHead:

Year One sells a mat which seems to differ from the REM, I'm going to give that one a shot. The original mat appears more closely related to a thin sheet of corrugated carpet fabric than a vinyl or rubber mat.

I have an REM I believe it was in my trunk. Once I installed everything else in the trunk no one has ever questioned it or cared if not perfect.

The trunk mat that is perfectly accurate is from ECS Automotive. They may not have them anymore. You will need to call them.
Their examples.
