No. 7 1/4 uses different plates. 8 1/4 8 3/4 and 9 3/4 all use the same plates. Only other thing I can think of is the driveshaft length. May have to shorten it a little.
May have to use adapter u-joint if the driveshaft and 3rd member are different-easily available at NAPA or Auto-groan (I think the ssmall u-joint is a "1350" and the bigger one is a "1390".)
The 7260 is the smaller joint with the 7290 being the larger one for the 8 3/4. The 7 1/4 rear usually used the 7260. The 1300 series was use on the Imperials and is a constant velocity setup. The 1350 is larger than the 7200 series joints....
