Just stripped the upholstery off my seat frames on my 71 BHG. Bottom seat frame had a fair share of surface rust and a couple of spots needing minor repair. Wire brushed them and put a coat of phosphoric acid on them to take care of the rust. Tomorrow, I will wash them off and get a coat of paint on them and fix the couple of spots.

I don't believe any of the padding is reusable. Looks like I need to buy the foam and batting to redo it and it looks like only a universal back seat kit is available. Anybody hear of a 71 Barracuda rear seat foam kit?

You can just buy foam and burlap from many places, but foam comes in different grades. Some will only last a couple of years and others much longer, due to the acid content (or something) in the foam. So ask around and make an informed choice.
