There is 3 types , Federal , TRW & the Saginaw & they use different brackets to mount , as far as I know the TRW was the early one used in the 60s , Federal was used into the early 70s , & Saginaw after that , the change over seems vague , some seemed to be still using Federal into 73 while other 70/71s use the Saginaw originally . TRW & Federal used a round neck , Sag used an oval neck , later they use a water drop shaped reservoir which will interchange with the oval neck reservoir .
No difference in performance , seal kits are available for all of them , Saginaw is more common being used into the mid 80s or later & may be cheaper to buy .
What are you trying to do , replace an existing pump or add PS to your car ?

If you check the return from the steering box, you have either a 5/8 or 3/8 return hence the difference in the return
port on the PSP. Some boxes circulated a lot of fluid back to the pump because the pump reservoir was compact and
didn't hold much. Pressure was between 900 and 1100 roughly so you notice with this type of Federal that the feed
line to the steering box is downsized some what. Also note the pulley size which is quite smaller than a Saginaw.
Heavy cars needed a certain range of pressure to steer the wheels at low speed hence the smaller pulley. Saginaw's
are way superior in this aspect and their larger pulley draws less H.P. while the relief valves maintain a pretty constant
pressure. 440 Source sells the conversion brackets for about $50 and the Saginaw sits low and out of the way unlike
the Federal.
