I bought some new top of the door trim, (belt-line molding) for my 70 Cuda. The old stuff came off pretty easy with a firm snap..The clips look new probably replaced when they painted the car,
I can't seem to get the new reproduction trim to snap on. Are the clips supposed to be snapped into the door first and then the trim snapped on, or do you put the clips on the trim first and then snap them in the door holes?
If so, can you remove the old plastic clips and reuse them?
Is there a trick I am missing?
Here is a picture of the clips. it looks like you put them on first and then push a pin in them to expand them...
