So I purchased this California 1971 Challenger: 318 car with air, Power disc brakes, slap stick auto, etc. The best part is that it only has 30,696 miles on the odometer. It is the cleanest Mopar I have seen in a long time that has not been molested. I have other California cars that are this clean but have been upgraded over the years. When I was putting on the collector plates the original paper Van Ness Dodge advertising plates were behind the California plates. Do I drive it or put it on my lift, tarp it and leave it for another 41 years? Thanks

Good luck with the car.

Enjoy it by driving the car as a weekend driver, not for commuter vehicle.

This way you get to have some fun.

Please don't modify or resto it.

It is beautiful as is!

From the looks of it, the folks who have voted say drive it as is.

Reminds me of a story of Caroll Shelby going to a Cobra convention and ripping the Cobra owners a new one.

He said that he appreciated the fact that many people collected the cars, built showrooms for 'em, polished 'em with a diaper. But he finished with "I built these things to be driven! Now drive 'em!"

It's a clean car you can get some enjoyment out of now. I say drive it. Keep it cleaned, keep it maintained, and drive it. You take it to the shows, there's not gonna be many E-bodies still being powered by the 318 it came with.

My dumba$$ voted before reading the post. A car that nice; that original should be kept as is. But don't be afraid to drive it. These cars were built for the road, not a showroom. IMO.

Don't drive it or put it on a ramp - sell it to me!

Just kidding. (ish)

What a great find - congratulations.

Just the sort of thing we all love - a real 'time warp'.

Light use in the dry to keep it going and so other people can see and enjoy it too sounds just perfect.

Good luck with it.

That car is awesome just the way it is, I wouldn't change a thing. I would also photodocument it from front to back and top to bottom just for the sake of reference material for those trying to achieve a factory fresh resto. I wouldn't hesitate to drive it but I also wouldn't use it as a daily driver either. Up here in the rustbelt we only have maybe 6 or 7 months we can/would drive these cars and generally they see less then a thousand mile a year and in most cases I would say far less. If you are looking for something to mod, I would find another. Welcome to the site from the Motor City!

Well, I will be keeping it stock except that I am putting rally wheels on it. I strongly dislike the hubcaps. They can go on the wall. Thanks for the input.

Dude, drive it! But on nice days only so you keep it clean and the miles low. Put some cool rallye wheels on it. Take it to as many shows as you can and share it's beauty with everyone in the process! What a nice car!!!
