I attempted to rebuild my wiper motor in my 72 Barracuda but become overwhelmed. I see rock auto sells 2 speed motors pretty cheap. The question is the wiper switch has off and 3 positions. I am assuming that would indicate a 3 speed motor which is not available on Rock auto. Honestly, I dont plan on driving the car in the rain but you never know when you might be at an event and need wipers that actually function. 2 speed are just fine. Can I just buy the two speed and get it to work with my factory switch?

Welcome to the "I Gotcha" fun you can look forward to when comparing the differences between the factory two speed wiper motor setup and a three speed wiper motor setup. The knob for the wiper switch, dash harness, pivots and wiper arms are typical the same, but that is about it. The wiper switch, the motor (obviously), the crank arm, the linkage and how the two setups run electrically are like comparing apples to oranges. With you having a factory three speed wiper setup, it would be easier to have your three speed wiper motor restored.

More to it than just the switch. Different linkages.

If you buy the 2 speed and use the 3sp switch it will not park and it will only have 1 speed.
I can restore your motor contact me if you would like

Thanks Jim. I was doing searches on the forum and was getting more confused with each post. Looks like Rain "X" will be my next purchase since the 3 speed wipers motors are almost 10 times the price of a 2 speed. I just want to drive this thing already... lol
