I use a snap on socket that is 2 3/8" long with the 3/4 hex on the end. loosen the plug with a box end wrench then remove the socket and spin the plug out by hand DetMatt1 is correct you can just use a 13/16 boxed wrench to loosen the plug then spin it out by hand as well

Yes, you can hear it turn on thru the speakers but no sound on either am or fm. I have another antenna that I'm going to try as the end that plugs into the radio is a bit loose. I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone the new am/fm conversion route with their radio and are they happy...

If the 4x4 trans has been redone and you have a correct 727 output shaft from a car not a truck, and the proper extension housing to match the shaft then by all means swap the shaft and use the trans you have it's likely cheaper than starting with an unknown trans and getting it redone
