Here are some pics of the bumper bracket and reinforcement/mounting plate. Look up part numbers # 3686582 and 368583 you will find it is the factory number for 1973 Challenger rear bumper Brackets. And this is the Factory 1973 bumper reinforcement plate The items that you have are for 1974.

Those are the correct brackets and only work with the proper reinforcement plate. Those are the ones that I have. I have the whole setup .

Correct option would be to put the car back to the correct height and not worry about having to make something fit that shouldn't be there.

You are going to need to measure the compressed length and the extended length to calculate the correct shock for the new application. So9 car suspension bottomed out and extended with shocks disconnected.

Before you do anything, can you give us some details ? When did this start to happen ? Was it after you made any parts changes or adjustnments to the engine. Things generally just don't happen on their own so we need to back up to when it started to happen to properly diagnose your issue...

Looks like you really need to get a new harness. It will save you many headaches in the years to come.
