I'm looking at buying a 4 post lift, Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm not considering a 2 post because the shop i have had a 2 post lift and it was cut out of the concrete ( previous owner divorce casualty ) so I'm not wanting to install anchors over the top of the old ones
Thanks
thats good to know, yea not worried about the back. still debating on keeping original am installed or putting an aftermarket in, honestly i can keep the am around and enjoy fm while cruising, i bought the car to drive and enjoy, Putting an FM in the glove box or remote mounting somewhere...
Thanks, yea $925 for a radio that does not look original is silly, better off with a $30 walmart unit :-) I'm going to just run a small bluetooth speaker with my ipod for now, I'ts just a weekend cruiser anyway Sad AM has gone almost non-existent
Thanks
Well again thanks for the education, I have not worked on engines for years ( you think? ) so please excuse all of the questions ( and thanks for the answers !!) The cam is pretty mild i'm sure. I love wrenching on this car every day, It just doesn't run like my V code did so that bothers me...
Thanks, I have a NEW set of rockers from 440source, I will look into the geometry thing. Yea, I'm a bit suspect of this. When you say shim do you mean the washers between the valves? Those are in place and I have new ones with the new rockers. I did not expect to see solid pushrods tho ?
Hey Xcudame, this doesn't seem right to me, the pushrods are solid? no oil hole, although the rockers were getting plenty of oil in the rocker bottom from the shaft, wonder if this could be all the noise ?
This could be OK but just not what I was expecting to see, any input ?
Makes sense Thanks, Pushrods look OK, rockers look worn, Yea, some work has been done for sure, after pulling the rockers the keepers on springs look new
Well, an interesting surprise, pulled the intake / valley pan and seem to have a clean freshly Red painted block ( heads are orange ) sooo looks like the lower end has been worked on, now i wonder if the cam is not a single bolt but a 3 bolt? I bought the 1 bolt timing chain, MIGHT need to...
Thanks, per below thanks for saving me from myself again, I'm pulling the intake and will take a close look. question on the new rockers, which are the factory stamped ones from 440source, would you bleed the lifters before installing the new rockers ? KEEPING each lifter in its original...
Well, good advice guys and this shows my inexperience, since the rockers are getting oil and the lifters are working sounds like i need to leave alone and just replace the rockers with the new oem stamped ones. Thanks for saving me from myself again  I'll stop after that and just wait...
I'm going to replace the lifters and rocker assembly's .... parts / gaskets are on the way, plus I will get a chance to re-paint intake and new valley pan  Rockers had plenty of oil pumped up so I think the lifters and pushrods are working well but lets add some new parts to the old girl
Thanks everyone !
First off I did the motor flush, turned clean oil into very ugly oil, Did the oil change and added a little MMO ( Not sure it really works but ? ) still very noisy, pulled the cover and as expected very noisy 4 and 6 rockers, pushrod's all seemed tight but i did have...
