Couple of corrections for your tag - JW23 should be JH23, and W6F8 should be H6F8. Pretty good list of options on this car including the correct VON for the sunroof. I plan on being at Midwest Mopars - would love to see the car there! Scott.
...and a decoder we found online. We hope to have it done and bring down to Midwest Mopars in the Park in Farmington, MN.
And from the Mopar sunroof registry it says that "The option code for the power sunroof is M51, but this code does not appear on the fender tag. What usually appears on the...
Welcome to FEBO from New Jersey
Sounds like a cool Challenger with the power windows and factory sun roof.
Not many sun roof cars made; pretty rare.
Check out this web site.
There is a whole section of Challengers with factory sunroofs listed;
Mopar Sunroof Registry
Hey
We've got a 70 challenger with power windows and a sunroof and were trying to figure it all out. The dash is out of the car and we have it powered from a battery through the bulk head like it would be in the car.
We are reusing the old harness for the power windows that runs under the dash...
383 4 barrels got the S13 suspension as well as the 340 and trailer tow package cars my 1970 Challenger 318 sunroof car has this suspension it is medium spec in between the standard and Hemi suspension.
The 340 will be going into my 318 70 sunroof Challenger and the 440 will be going into my 70 V code Cuda. Both engines will use original high performance manifolds rather then headers I like the maintenance free aspect headers are always bending, blowing gaskets and getting holes in the...
...I will put the images up tomorrow for you (I need my wife's help and she's not here now) The car would have had a vinyl roof originally with the sunroof what other options does it have? is it Hemi Orange that is faded? it looks like Hemi Orange in the old photo but now it looks like GO Mango.
Yep it shows it a real R/T and it does have some rust around the window but also there is pieces of vinyl top that makes it look worse then it actually is. The rest of the car is very solid. Yea it’s a sunroof car.
There may be a lot of variation on emblem placement; did you decode the vin to insure it is a real R/T?.... should begin with JS23, I believe.
Looks like lots of rust around the back window and Dutchman panel.
Is that a factory sunroof?
Very nice! Would love to see some pictures the next time you have a chance to do so. Also - check out the Website I have set up for Sunroof Mopars - just Google Mopar Sunroof Registry - and you will find it. Thanks, Scott.
They only made 63 1971 Challengers with the sunroof so it wouldn't be as rare as them. Was the formal roof option work carried out outside the factory if it was this may explain this document.
...the car. After further research, I found that only 229 formal roof challengers were made which leads me to believe it might be as rare as a sunroof car? Thoughts? I knew the car had a small rear window which was more rare but I had no idea how much rarer it was. To think I have 2 broadcast...
I also would be interested in seeing this document - especially if it is sunroof related. If you don't have any luck loading the picture, send one of us a PM and you could email, text it, or instafacetubechat it one way or the other, and we can get it posted. ;-)
