    Rear wheel bearings and seals

I'm glad to hear it. That seemed to be the sentiment I had gathered but it still seems like a touchy subject haha. Hoping to work on a few other small issues tomorrow then take it out for a spin

    Rear wheel bearings and seals

For anyone interested, I ended up replacing the inner seals, then ordered new pre-built axles from Dr.diff to avoid jerking around with bearings and because my studs were too short currently anyways after my disc conversion. Comes with the "new" green bearings pre-installed as controversial as...

    Fuel Return Line Install

Hello, Im looking to install a return line on my 73 challenger. Was a factory 318, currently running a 440. Have a sniper 2 installed so I'd like to get a regulated return line going. Right now I only have the stock 2 hard lines for fuel and vapor to the cannister. Can I hijack the vapor line...

    Rear wheel bearings and seals

Would it not be the item labeled "oil seal"?

    Rear wheel bearings and seals

That's kind of what I had initially assumed but it seems wrong after some reading? The inner seals are meant to keep any oil from getting to the bearings/grease from getting into the diff, and the outer gaskets are just meant to keep dirt and debris from getting in. I'd love to be wrong though

    Rear wheel bearings and seals

I'm not sure if need new bearings, but there was absolutely no grease, and has kind of been self lubricating via the gear oil leaking past the seals, so I figured it was better safe than sorry. I appreciate the info!

    Rear wheel bearings and seals

Hello all, Looking to replace my axle rear inner seals and wheel bearing on a 73 Challenger because of a leak and some noise at speed. I've read a bit if conflicting info online so I want to make sure I order all the correct parts. (Shipping to where I live takes forever, so I want to get the...

Challenger tallest total wheel size for rear

Hello all, Recently spent a lot of time measuring and researching wheel/tire size combos and ended up going with a set of 18x9.5 in the rear and 18x8 in the front. Rear tires are 275/45r18 and fronts are 235/50. This puts the rear wheel diameter at 27.7 inches and the front at like 27.2. My old...

Holley Sniper 2 with AC Wiring

Figured I'd draw up a wiring diagram for people who end up wanting to install Vintage Air and a Holley Sniper 2 system together. Vintage Air currently only posts documentation for the original Sniper. They also had one of their relays backwards. Just got it installed using this method and...

    Sudden heavy oil leak

Let me know where to mail the beers! Fixed up the pcv and not a drop of oil!

    Sudden heavy oil leak

Man, if that's the issue, I owe you a beer. I'll give it a try tomorrow and report back. Hopefully won't have ruined too many gaskets/seals if so.

    Sudden heavy oil leak

Come to think of it, I did do a bit of jerry-rigging on the pcv. The snipers pcv port was significantly smaller than my carb, so I rigged together a bit of an adapter that acted as a fixed orifice pcv, but maybe I did a **** job and it's not allowing enough air to flow.

    Sudden heavy oil leak

Appreciate the response. I think it'd be easier for me to tell if I can get it on the lift. I can tell there's a lot of oil on the front lip of the oil pan and that's where it's all dripping down, but it's hard to say if it's the oil pan, or maybe behind the timing cover and leaking down. Theres...

    Sudden heavy oil leak

Hello again! Back with another question. I recently installed a Holley Sniper 2 on my 440 and afterwards have had a major oil leak once the engines warm. Its leaking near the front timing cover but hard to pinpoint exactly. If I let it keep running, it would probably dump a quart in 30 minutes...

    Passenger brake light

I'll give that a try! Its weird because with the headlights on, it still wont light up unless ylu insert it into the housing. So i assume that 3rd wire is not connected or maybe not a ground? Also there was 2 Haha sorry for lack of pictures. Spent an hour or 2 messing with it until it got dark...

    Passenger brake light

Quick question! On my '73 challenger, all lights work except the passenger brake light won't brighten with brakes applied. Both sides light up with headlights on, but the passenger side doesn't light up with braking. Swapped the bulbs, recrimped questionable connectors in the trunk, etc and...

    Engine bottom-end ID

Thanks! The only casting number Ive found is: 4006630-440-1 Definitely has. Need to find someone to go through and rebuild it at this point I imagine. Getting a new engine out here would probably cost more in the end.
