Engine bottom-end ID

Hello!

Had my oil pan off and wanted to see if anyone can confirm my suspicions that this engine is a stock 75-78 cast block based on these photos. Thanks!

That is a cast crankshaft. What is the casting date on the side of the block?

Looks like it may have got hot a time or 2 there is a fair amount of vertical scoring in the one cylinder , looks like cast pistons also .

Definitely has. Need to find someone to go through and rebuild it at this point I imagine. Getting a new engine out here would probably cost more in the end.

Definitely appears to be a cast crank 440. And looks like someone punched the rod caps (not factory), which suggest it might have been a part before.

That casting number is for 1975 through 1978.
