Thanks Chally, TonySRT, and MoparLeo for your replies. Looks like Cold Hose is the place I need to contact. I'll be using R12 in the system for the re-do. I'll likely pull the heater box and rebuild that as well since my blower motor is a bit noisy.
Again, thanks as aways to folks on here who...
Looking to find a provider that repairs (or restores) original equipment A/C lines/Hoses? Looks like Classic Auto Air no longer offers this service. Does anyone have a source they've used for this? Looking to keep the OE system on my Cuda as close to original as I can. As always, thanks for any...
Does anyone know a source for repairs/restoration of Mopar cassette players/recorders that were used on E & B bodies in 71 - 74? I have one that looks good esthetically, but know it needs the internals inspected and repaired. At the very least the belts are likely glue-like.
Any references...
I have a 2.5lb Halon type that I "mount" to the carpet directly behind the drivers seat with velcro. No drilling. It's low enough that if in a (!) hard collision, it won't become a projectile. It's mostly hidden from view but can be easily removed for nit-picky type shows.
Guys, thank you all for your replies. :thankyou: I'm a bit slow on my follow up. I am running R12 as the system is all stock. Based on some of your replies, sounds like I better check voltage(s) at the motor at the different speeds. I believe the resister IS working as the speed does change...
Question for any E body HVAC savvy folks or restorers who have done their own rebuilds... Has anyone modified the system to get the blower (motor and/or squirrel cage) set up to move more air into the cabin when operating in the A/C mode? My simple mind says perhaps a faster spinning motor, or...
I have black 2.5 lb Halon extinguishers in all of my cars. Mounted behind the drivers seat on the floor near the kick up. I bought this cool looking label on eBay with chrome finish and black lettering with the Plymouth logo that made it look like a dealer option part! (Sorry, I don't have pic...
Lee, these latest improvements are spot on! The alterations to the Road Runner shock design and placement, exhaust changes, and clean up of the underbody area are all huge improvements. I love the front shot of the 71 Cuda as well. When you finally sort these out to your liking, and are ready...
Wow, looks really nice! A couple suggestions if you'll permit me? (Honestly, I'm not sure how difficult it would be to do these...) 1) The shocks seem too long and extend too close to the ground. 2) the area between the Dana center section and the shocks would look better in the lighter color...
These all look great! Some very nice work. As Rich said earlier, you've got to do a 71 Cuda!
I'd take a couple for sure, and since I have a 69 B body, I'd love some of a Road Runner too!
Dadeo, recently read the Hemmings MM article on your Challenger. Absolutely stunning car! My painter did something similar on my F8 70 GTX many year ago when he added some pearl into the paint, and it really did pop a bit more in the sun. Hopefully, I'll get to see your car around town...
Looking for a OE 73-74 inside hood release cable with handle and mounting bracket. I believe these were optional on Challengers (and likely Barracuda/Cuda) in 1973 and 1974? The photo below shows one in the vertical position just above the e-brake release. I would like retro-fit one on my 71...
Matt, I know this thread is E body centric, and not to hijack it, but... might you have a 69 B Body non rally dash harness, specifically the map light harness or even just the socket and pigtail? I have the bezel and switch. If so, will you be at the WPC meet on Sunday? Since I'm local, I'll...
Rick Ehrenberg at Mopar Action is currently building the 360 408 stoker motor using an eBay short block to show case the new Trick Flow 190 aluminum heads. (They are on the second article now) I'm planning this build myself this fall for my 71 Cuda to supplant the original, but tired numbers...
Thanks for posting Matt! We saw a couple of these at Donut Cutter Wednesday afternoon. I especially remember the red 71 vert. Where were you guys hanging out Saturday? Can't quite place it with these photos.
