13in Baer Track 4 brake fits 17in YearOne Rallye rims ?

I may have jumped the gun by ordering 13in Baer Track 4 brakes and 17in 17x9 YearOne Rallye rims assuming they would fit but I have not been able to find out if anyone has done it ? This article https://www.motortrend.com/how-to/1102phr-project-laguna-baer-brakes-install shows the Track 4 brakes being fitted with GM style YearOne Rallye but anyone has experience with the Mopar Rallye rim ?

Bear brakes has a rim template on their website, you download it and print it off, use paper to cut out. Use that to match up to the rim that you’re buying. Your brake kit will probably take about six weeks to two months to ship to you. Those rims will probably get to you sooner, call Baer brakes and ask to put a hold on your brakes. You won’t be disappointed with those brakes. I have the smaller version, and they stop perfect.

Thanks Mopar Nut, both are on their way on a boat from the US so I will just need to find out when they arrive I ordered them a while back and only recently realised they may not fit. Should have done a bit more research

Take a good look at those rims when you get them, all 4 of mine showed up with some pretty bad pitting, and other blemishes - Year One made good for it….shipping and all.

Tip: Also consider the thickness of inside rim tape weights... if you have them. They could possibly hit the caliper. Solution would be to get thinner tape-on weights, or else, to additionally file/grind the caliper for clearance to the rim, etc.

Thanks for the replies ! Some fantastic looking machines here As luck would have it my rims arrived in the last few days so I was able to do a test fit on the car with no issues. I’m planning to use the acorn center caps from the original rims. Next job for the winter is to upgrade the suspension and brakes. I’ve gone for a mix of Hotchkis (torsion bars, leafs, subframe connection and shocks), PST (upper + lower (reinforcement kit) control arms and sway bars) Baer T4 brakes. Looking forward to spring !

I finally got round to fitting the new front suspension and brakes but frustratingly I have a minor clearance issue between the brake caliper and the rim. The template clears fine (I checked the scaling). On the car though I have interference on the rim spoke. With a 3/16” spacer clearance is fine except for the inner wheel weights. The only issue is I probably have to move the caliper further out another 1/16” to center it. Thinking I could grind the inside of the rim spoke flush with the casting at the interference point. Any thoughts other than new wheels (which I really want to avoid if I can help it)

Sorry to hear your brakes are rubbing. I cannot help you with that, but wanted to say those rims look great on your car!! Can you tell me what size your front and rear tires are? Thanks !!!

Regarding the design/shape of the wheels, that's a common physical interference problem even with 15" rallye rims and slightly larger aftermarket rotors/calipers. Too bad the 17" don't clear that radius of the inner shaped rims vs the caliper. Possibly, you could file/grind down the calipers to clear the rims... not uncommon pending the amount of interference. I'm pretty certain the Magnum style (5-spoke) Year One 17" rims would clear the calipers.

Caution: DO NOT file or grind the the rims... that curved inner shape is a weak point of design of the rims... they will fatigue and break (I know ... even the factory steel design will eventually break from fatigue... happened to me!).

Appreciate your advice Mitch! Possible I could shave a hair off the corner of the caliper. I’m playing around with spacers as well to see what I can get away with.

Status update - got the car on the road today! Ended up with 1/4” spacers / longer studs, a hair shaved off the caliper corners so have +1/8” clearance now. Also had to bring the balancing weight inboard and roll the arches to get everything to clear but I’m really pleased with the results and no rubbing at full lock on the bump stops. Just need to get the center caps fitted. I kinda like the raw look without though Suspension rides sweet, firm but not jarring.
