Finally pulled the 340 for the rebuild!
Thems good looking heads ! So how is the fit ?
Thanks. Nice fit, the Eddie RPM 60179 heads are made specifically for the 340; 202 intakes, 65cc chambers and machined .060 for the above deck pistons for good valve/piston clearance.Thems good looking heads ! So how is the fit ?
Edelbrock heads are known for potentially tight valve guides, made in the USA but some units measure out ok and some are tight. A number of people recommended having the heads gone over by my machinist which I thought was prudent! Usually it is the exhaust valves with this issue since they tend to heat up and expand from the exhaust. In my case both intake and exhaust guides needed some minimal work!Tight valve guides was something the machine shop caught or something you were already aware of ?
More classic cars have been destroyed by mice than by man !Finally removed the exhaust system that was on my A66 since 1979 with the custom x pipe that was welded in.
I am really surprised at how solid the head pipes still were; I had to cut them off with a recip saw.
Full of acorns. Exhaust must have been a mouse
