Morning

Please let me know if you had the time to look for the 6191 carbs you mentioned you had. I would like to purchase. Thanks. My cell is 516-398-2332. Paul

Thanks.
I moved out of my shop two years ago, and still looking. Stuff is spread everywhere.

I also have a 1970, 383- 4-speed car...i had heard that there was a factory/dealership replacement for the Holley Carb with a Carter because customers were so dissatisfied with the performance of the Holley.
Any truth to that?

I dont know that. I have other cars with 4 speeds for 69 and all came with carters and they are fine. In 71 it was holley for my set up.

Holley Carburetors, are simply different than Carter AFB/AVS. When someone has a dislike for them, it may be because they don't understand them, or know how to adjust them to resolve an issue. That said, when I've had problems I couldn't solve, I've replaced holleys a number of times on cars (that came with originally with Carter) with Carter four barrels. I did this out of frustration and/or laziness, not because holleys were "bad."
