Holley 4160 part number R6191 w/o shaker hood and R6193 or R4667 w/ shaker hood. With shaker hood, it could be a mid-year change between the R4667 and R6193. Someone else might know the cut off date.

I thought only the 340 got the Thermoquad in 1971. 1972 was when the 400 and 440 got the Thermoquad. The 383 production ended in 1971.

Thinking back. My brother and I pieced the car together in 86 and drove it to Florida. 1200 miles. Now I think of it. It had a victor intake and the car was in Florida and we needed a carb and put on the TQ. That's all there was. Don't remember what was on it.
1972 was when the 400 and 440 got the Thermoquad
I do remember that.

Sorry, my fault. My statement is correct for a 1971 340 4spd carb, but my 340 is the incorrect cubic inch he is asking for , yes the 1971 383 4 spd carb for his car is a Holly.

My 71 383 4spd build sheet decoded to R4667. About 20 years ago I contacted over 20 people looking for one, finally found a R4667-3 or dash something. I had it restored/rebuilt it runs great to this day. Every year at Carlisle I look at every core that resembles it and have never seen another one.

Thanks
I know they are hard to find
Plymouth used that carb only for a short period of time. Then switched to 6191 for 383 4 speed setup

Put it on your TODO list. There are several alternate cars that will operate correctly and run very well on your motor. You may need to use one of them until you can find the numbers correct one, which may, it pains me to say, take years to find.
