In regard to Joey's post #2, this is what many don't know. Prior to Joey posting the copy of rules, I had done that very same thing myself here in response to a post that Challenger6pak had put up. 6pak will also go back and delete his posts, but I happened to quote him in my post where I included the very same rules that he likes to make reference to. He saw my post and responded.
I also gave Joey reference to this topic at the same time. Joey removed my post and those of 6pak and inserted the very same rules I had posted myself.
Regarding posting links, I have no problem here either. I've got a thread going on Bbodies that I could post a link to, but no one here would be interested in it because it's about helping people who own B bodies.

I'm not on here to fight anyone. The fact is I've been posting on a few automotive boards for the past 15 years without issue. I've also helped others over the years to the point of fixing things screwed up by other shops. I've just never seen people get away with hounding and harassing people in the classifieds section like I find here.
If PM's is the way to handle what I've thrown out there, why is it the three of you publicly post your feelings about other people's ads for all to see, back to back? Coincidence? Why aren't those "helpful" comments done privately?

I may have no interest in buying this car or other items for sale on this site but I am genuinely interested in the items that are for sale, in this case the vert. I'm interested in seeing pictures, knowing details on condition and how condition affects value. I have a couple of B bodies and am one of the first handful of members on FBBO and I'm also been very active on FCBO since it first started. The only questions I ask on for sale threads are questions that everyone who might be remotely interested in the car or part would want to know. Why wouldn't the seller want to answer publicly the questions that everybody would want to know? You must realize that these threads live on as reference long after the item has sold so the more info in the body of the thread the better in my opinion. You guys that are having a problem with the commenting in the for sale threads wouldn't last a day on FCBO. This site doesn't have anywhere near the amount of traffic as the sister sites do and if everybody is posting within the sites rules and posting often, it can only be a good thing for all of us including Joey.

Okay, now I understand. You ask questions about items you admit you "have no interest in buying" in order to help other people. You want the finest details exposed with pictures for everyone else! How kind and thoughtful of you to do that. Please accept my apologies for thinking otherwise.

Lets let this horse lie and get back to the subject. Can anyone ask for details on Mr. ldr's Challenger without upsetting somebody ?

Has anyone seen the commercial where the Owner of the bike shop says you can't test ride the bike, you only can buy it, the realtor says you can't look at the house she is selling before you buy it, you have to trust her ? Done.

How convenient of you to pull half a sentence out the context of the rest of the post.

I'm over it.
Anyone want to buy a 1970 Challenger pace car convertible? If so, go back to the top of page 1 and disregard everything after that.

The Challenger is advertised as a 71 pace car. If it is, the desirability of the car goes up. Will you post or PM the VIN to me? I have a list of the pace car VINs. Thanks.

I asked for the Vin# a few days ago and haven't gotten a reply. I will call him on the way home tonight.

Know what I see?

I see some pertinent questions coming from members of the board - rather they want to buy the car or not.

Those pertinent questions are going to help the OP in the end simply because these same questions will be asked by someone who's buying the car. Simple as that.

There should be no fear in answering the questions here or in PM. There should be no fear in posting more detailed photos as these are the same questions that a buyer will be asking and requesting more detail photos.

It's that simple.

Guy's it been a while since I've been in here. I have limited time with the new job having me work all kinds of hours and then, on top of that, I have a three month old son and a wife who has my time when I'm home. I haven't been able to do my job as a moderator on here.

This little incident, though, let's me know I've been missed.

You are missed. Take care of your family first. We are all good. We had a spat, worked it out, and hopefully have no hard feelings over it.

I spoke with the owner at length the other day and this is a real pace car. He gave me the Vin. and it is on the Indy Pace car list. He has the fender tag, build sheet, title and the numbers match. The body of car is very rough and will need frame rails, T-bar cross member, and most all of the sheet metal. It is a project for a professional. I was interested in the car because of how rare it is but this is too much of a project for me at this point in my life. This car will need to be put on a frame jig and rebuilt piece by piece. The seller seems like a really good guy but just he is very very busy right now. If you are a Real Buyer send him your number and he will call you and answer any questions you have. I think this would be a really good one to save if you have the skills, time, and money.
