1972 Dodge Challenger Hemi Orange with the original white vinyl top for sale, asking price $25,000. The car came out of North Carolina were it was stored in a garage since 1979, in 2003 the car came out of hibernation. A friend of mine found it and he was actually capable of driving it home. All the interior pieces are original to the car they have been restored and put back in the car with new white vinyl seat covers. The car looks like a sleeper sporting the original outside and inside. But the guts behind the car are another story. It started off with the original 318 till it went on and met its maker. Then came time to build something that would survive the ages. 400 b block bored stroked and blueprinted by a Nascar shop in North Carolina. The car dynode at 565hp. The rotating assembly has been lighten thanks to a 440 source combination of parts. The trans is a built 727-torque flight with a gears vendor overdrive. Which is wonderful to have, you have the entire low-end grunt with the capability of cruising the freeway at 80mph with the motor only turning 2000 RPM. The Challenger has new steering gearbox, sway bar, heavier torsion bars, HD leaf springs from Firm Feel with caltracs. The 8.3/4 rear end is built with strange axles and strange 4.11 gears. New fuel system with electric pump. The A/C compressor is tucked away and not on top of the motor. The A/C box and components were restored and will actually get pretty cold when you’re driving. Use lots of nice pictures & focus on the drive train. $25k is alot of $ for a 1972 318 Challenger. Without that drivetrain you'd be lucky to get $15k in this economy. Not sure what you think the engine and up grades are worth to you but I think $25k is high. I think it will bring something in between.

As a general rule the first time you list a car on ebay is usually the best that it will do. Repeat listings bring less and less each time people see it. Also make sure you start the auction at a reasonable time maybe 8-10 pm. Don't start it at 2 am or some strange time or you won't get the closing bell action. I like to list things on a weekend night like Saturday ending on Sunday night so you get you 2 weekends and a full week of bidding on it. Good luck.

Also, you can use the eBay classifieds. You can list it for your price, and allow people to make offers. I also think $25K is high, but you can list it for that and see what kind of offers you get! With the classifieds it is actually free to list, and $125 if you sell it. :sunny:

Didn’t think about the auction ending time good info, the car has a lot of extra trinkets that make it a great driver. Might just stick a 71 grill in it, got one lying around somewhere. The market being dead really sucks, you can trade for almost anything but no one is buying thanks again guys.

Some people are buying! With eBay you are reaching a LOT of people. I think your car would get some $18-20K offers. Maybe more who knows! :3some: Also listing is FREE!

I would not list on eBay....I just came through the most frustrating experience ever! eBay basically does not favor the seller. You can describe the car perfectly, demand a non-refundable deposit, insist that they see it before they bid, be a long time member (since 1999) and have over 500 perfect feedback, have the buyer bid on a "legal and binding" contract and they can back out without any repurcussions! You even have to give the deposit back while they leave you negative feedback and they do not allow the seller to leave negative feedback. Just word to the wise, you'll have serious heartbreak! eBay sucks for an honest seller... by the way, depends on if you have sold before on eBay, there is a listing fee and a final value fee they will stick to you and if you receive any money through eBays Paypal they will take 3% right off the top. signed, frustrated...

Thanks for the tip Mopargod I listed it on Ebay classifieds we will see what that turns up. branlen you’re not the first person to tell me about the whole shady buyer scenario, I would be pretty pissed about someone backing on a deal. I knew about the listing fee but not the final value fee. Yes paypal is great but 3% who do they think they are, the government taking a dime from you any chance they get. I posted on the classifieds and will just keep it up on the forums and some run to it sells. Just keep driving it and one day I can convince my wife you can have everything under the sun.

Yes all that can happen but most of the time it doesn't. I understand your frustration. It happened to me back in 2005 a guy in Gemany bid my boat up to just above the reserve on day one & never ended up sending a deposit or paying anything and then he left me negative feedback saying " "de baot net eny good" He never even saw the boat. Since then I've sold a few cars and several parts and haven't had any trouble at all and my feedback is back up to 100% positive.

Did you call eBay and try to get that all fixed? Usually, on the phone they try and help. I have heard some similiar stories, but that can happen anywhere including on these sites! I have had more people not pay for things that they said that they wanted on the websitesm than I ever had on eBay!

I would only requie a deposit with PayPal. If it sells either cash, or a certified check that must clear first! :icon_profileleft:

Best of luck to you wickidemon! Nice ride and there are definitely buyers out there with the $ to buy. The economy doesn't affect them like it does working class dogs like me. Just be careful and if you care about your feedback like I do just be prepared in case you encounter a couple of ignorant buyers as I did to have it ruined. I think I have my '70 Challenger sold. The guy wanted to leave a deposit today and I told him I needed to sleep on it. Take care!

Hey, If I could, I would. My Cuda is in great condition, original too, but the power from the 360 is quite underwhelming. What I'd give to have 500+ hp...
Trade?

If nothing else, after reading your description of your car. It sounds like you could take some better pictures and submit them to a few Mopar magazines for possible publishing. You tell a good story, too bad it is a 72. By the way, it is not a drop in to insatll a 71 grill into this car and would probably decrease its appeal and value.

Germany?! The Europeans are buying these things up! Before I got my Cuda, I went to look at a 68 Road Runner. When I got to there I was told a Wire Transfer just came through and it was headed to Belgium.
Congrats on the Sale.
