340 hood emblems

Hello......just Got the car back from the painter after having the hood painted. Need to reinstall my install my "340 four barrel" hood emblems. Looking at The back of the emblems it doesn't look like a speed knot was ever installed. Besides that one of the studs is inaccessible once it's pushed through the hood. How are these installed from the factory?

They used barrel nuts. So the emblem will just push on from the outside.

Thanks for the reply.......So they are inserted Into the hood from the outside?

Original 340 metal hood emblems pushed in from the outside and had plastic pressure inserts

Yes they push in from the outside! The originals did have the plastic sleeve as @340challconvert stated. I don't believe they reproduce them so I use the barrel sleeves.

I'll see what I can find to work.
My greatest concern would be the emblems falling off. Car is mostly all original, including emblems.
