IMO No .
The Eddy carbs are poor quality , Hard to tune & 1 size fits all unlike the 100s of different ones made by Carter & used by the factory
The AVS series is somewhat better than the Eddy AFB series .
Personally I would use a Proform 650 , it is far more responsive & tunable .

The AVS2's are quite efficient with their annular flow primary boosters and actually can be tuned quite easily with metering rods, springs and secondary air door adjustments.

AT least with Holley type / Proform you can change jets one step at a time & you can replace air bleed for idle & jet circuits to adjust the carb for different vacuum created by the engine .
Jet & rods are more awkward as they don't just single step & often the different steps in the rods create a good situation up but not down or the reverse . the worst part is eddy QC is bad & i have seen carbs cast with internally walls missing entirely & they do not warranty at all .
