422 Stroker Small Block

Ok, here is another one ready for dyno testing. I know you guys like to guess the power, so here we go.

340 block 4.100" bore 4.00" stroke 422ci
RPM heads Stage 2 ported w/2.055/1.60 valves 63cc measured
Comp dual springs/locks/retainers
Diamnod Flat Top Pistons 12.4 to 1
SCAT I beam rods/crank
Coated piston skirts/valves/bearings
Custom made 3/8 pushrods(made in house )
PRW 1.6 stainless roller rockers w/ billet hold downs
Comp XR286R solid roller cam
MRL Solid roller lifters
Weiand Stealth Intake(special mods )
Holley Ultra HP 850
Proform electric water pump

This is a rather smallish cam, and yes its a Comp Cam. They had it, so Im using it. I would rather use a Voodoo, but money was tight and Im working the best I can with what they got.

So how much power will it make????????

Well I always lean on the low side , that way the customer is impressed not disappointed , it also depends what dyno you are using as no two are close , Mustang is tough Dyno Jet always reads much higher & what altitude you are at etc . the real # is the Timeslip
with the actual weight of the car & driver .

Have a question on using my block and top end, turning it into a 422 c.i. motor. What do you figure the approximate cost would run with you providing a stroker kit, machine work, labor for a running motor? Two things you would need to do is machine a dip stick hole in the block as the "R3" race block doesn't have one which is a pain and worries me with not having the ability to check oil and levels. End up changing oil more than probably needed because of this issue. The second would be 4 bolt Billet caps on crank.

See my current motor specs and parts that could be used. Had the motor dyno in Denver (mile high - 5,800') a few years ago at 546hp.

Is this a Siamese bore block? And its a low deck 9.00"? Not a real good idea running a 4.00" stroke crank with such a low deck, the rod would have to be too short or the piston would look like a Hockey Puck. The best you can hope for is a large bore medium stroke engine and get around 410-417 and still have a short piston.

But depending on head flow and chamber cc size, on e of my "special" solid roller cams, you could be looking at 650-700HP.
