Hello, When a 1970 Challenger was ordered with air conditioning, did that car have the drivers side cowl vent(not the dash vent) that is opened and closed by the "vent" pull/push cable. Im talking about the one under the dash that is mounted under the cowl on the DRIVERS side. I know the passenger side has it integrated in with the air conditioning/heater box and there is a big hole cut in the cowl. Thanks in advance. Steve

I dont think so, I will take a look tomorrow to see if there is a opening at the heater box. The vent you talk about that goes to the drivers side dash has a opening under the steering colmn with a slide bar to open and close.

No. A/C cars only had a vent though the vent option on the a/c switch. The cowl will not have a hole on the drivers side.

My apologies for resurrecting ten plus year old thread. But, this one is closest I could find to my subject. Working with a 1971 Cuda 340. Real deal BS23H. It is a Non A/C car. Am I correct in thinking it "should" have the driver's side fresh air vent? The firewall and complete cowl area ate 100 percent original unmolested. There is no hole under the cowl for it. Ironically enough, the build date was Friday March 5. My guess is it is what we could call a typical Friday build. It also appears to have the Shaker cable hole. It's NOT an N96, it is a J54 Sport hood. Just curious if anyone else has seen similar contradictions. Thanks all!!
