SOLD 73 340 Barracuda

I am having trouble finding a car in similar state for pricing. Would appreciate any opinions.

The car is white with black interior missing lower dash and cluster, passenger windows. Floor boards are pretty decent for missing windows. Only see a couple holes the size of a pen. I was told the trunk was left open so the trunk and lower quarters are pretty cancerous but intact. The front headlight bezels might be with the other trim in the trunk? Carpet and vinyl top is gone too.

The rest of the car is pretty much all there and in repairable state. Was told it is numbers matching 340. The air cleaner has been off for who knows how long so I'm hesitant to check if the engine will turn.

Car is located in Oklahoma City Ok

I will get more pics Monday. Any areas I should pay special attention to? The interior is complete with buckets and console door, panels ect. Only missing what I posted. Oh part of the headliner was removed but all bows are there. The missing window trim is in the trunk.

Have clean title with current registration too.

$2500 if you want to sell it. Not sure that one will get restored anytime soon.

Try to poke through the rails and the torsion bar crossmember with a screwdriver and take an 1.25" socket and breaker bar with you to try to turn the engine over. It's a good thing that the carpet was removed. It's a kool car and looks to be savable. Is it yours and you are looking to sell?
If the engine is stuck, pull the plugs and start pumping in a 50/50 mix of trans fluid and acetone into the cylinders. It might take some time for that mix to work depending how bad it's stuck. How long has it been sitting there?

Youch, that's rough! I bought my '70 #s matching 340 car that was probably in similar condition 4 years ago for $1,300. Based on that and assuming it is in the same condition I'd say this one has a similar value. Mine has a fender tag and build sheet and that one might have a build sheet still, it'd be worth a look. Mine was not complete when I bought it and this one looks to be missing a lot too.

Maybe 5 items are missing, everything needs rework for sure.
I bought the car from a friend that found it in a barn that had literally collapsed around it. They got the car out then the previous owner demolished the barn. The gauge cluster and a couple other parts were left in a box during demo. It has been sitting since the 80s. The rally wheels were used on another car that was stolen. I do have another set of alloy rims and tires for it.

I am trying to figure out what it's worth to sell. Looks like I might make more by parting it out. I have been looking for replacement parts to fix it and have some idea of what parts I can sell to at least double my money. Was just curious what it might be worth all together. Thanks for your responses

You might want to take the rear of the front seats apart to look for a build sheet.
that WILL help the final price for the car if it's all together.

Parting it out will take a while. Seems most cars take 2-3 years to be fully parted out.
I hope it doesn't go that way.

Those with more knowledge can correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't a numbers matching 340 Barracuda be on the more rare side than the same 'Cuda?

Yes, but being that this is a 73 low compression motor and other than the seat frames, console w/shifter and possibly the rear end there is very little left of any value. If he is parting it out, it wouldn't matter anyway. He probably paid less than $500.

I find these statements to be extremely hilarious. I see a lot of sheetmetal on the car which can be cleaned up and used again, with very little work (from the pics...of course, it would take on sight inspection to verify). Rust isn't necessarily a deal breaker, especially in Upstate NY. Supply has simply dried up in this area. If I were in the market, this car wouldn't be one I'd be afraid to take on.
