And that's fine. If someone is looking for a project car what I'm saying is that from what I'm seeing... from a professional's standpoint, is that it's definitely a builder.

Have you checked the block to see if it is a 340 or a 318? The car is restorable from what I can see. If it had a set of rallye wheels and were sprayed all one color, the car would look totally different. 73 340 engines are painted blue. 73's have solid vinyl backed seats. No shell to put a buildsheet. It would be in the rear seat. If the car were local, it would most likely end up at my shop. I would put it together. AMD makes pretty decent replacement parts and these cars are not being made anymore.

Sure, there are parts missing (Dash cluster is the most obvious thing I see). It's a PROJECT car and you're all on a site with a CLASSIFIED section. Geesh!

Yes, it would look better on a set of rolling wheels and we'd all like to see shots of the underside, fender tag, etc.

Tranny fluid and ACETONE? Ack! Marvel Mystery Oil. It's the bomb.

After what I've spent replacing rusty sheetmetal on a northern car, I'd gladly give $3k for this one.

So there you go. Take the $3 grand that quapman said he'll pay. When he restores it he can make it a great before and after restoration. He can show you how to properly evaluate a car once he has it to look at in person. How much a 73 Barracuda would be worth restored and how much it will cost to restore it. And how to bag and tag during the teardown. Decide what can be restored and what will need replacing. Really a good resto project that site members can follow along with. I say "Go for it"

Think you should ask yourself how much $ are you willing to put into the car. Not trying to be a jerk just trying to be real. I think we all started there once in our lives.

It's like this. If you have the skills to do the car, it is worth doing. If you have to pay someone to do it, buy a better car. This will cost too much to have a shop do it and you may lose interest. I would guess that the car will take 600-800 hours to do as nice driver. I'm getting ready to do a B body that is far worse. If this was a B body site I would do a thread on it. I am not restoring it. It is just going to be safe, reliable and look good. It will be a driver. Go through other restoration threads if you need to get an idea of what is involved.

Thanks for the replies. I bought it for 1750. It was sitting at my friends wrecking yard in OKC. After reading all your posts I told him if anyone asks, get 2500. Someone asked about it and he told him 3500. We both made a little. Really wish I had the kept the car, but it was the last in line of 5 projects. I had a friend I was stationed with in Alameda that had a Challenger and built the engine in his living room. Ever since I fell in love with body style.
