I am restoring a Challenger right now. It's now time for final bodywork and paint. I want to paint trunk, jambs, engine bay, floorboards.

Still needs: Was a vinlyl top car. Loosing the vinyl. Holes need filled and some bodywork to the roof to make the top nice and smooth again. Using an AMD hood. The major dents were all taken care of before the car went to the shop. Still has a few areas that need work. Two small rusty spots, about silver dollar in size.

Initial quote, $9,500 :angry7:

Body shops are really slow here in Nevada right now. I know the manager well. I was hoping for a good deal, but this seems a bit high to me.

Should I make a counter offer? I dont want to make them mad but the price does seem a bit high. Even with materials being $3,000-$3,500

Thoughts? Thanks, Troy

Sounds like a reasonable quote, actually, if work is to a good-high standard (Fill roof holes with metal??)

You should see London prices!

Cost of labour, materials, equipment and workshop space here would have you paying double what you've been quoted.

Hope it works out for you.
