I have a 70 challenger R/T with a 440 4 speed. It has Disc front and drum rear brakes. I'm wondering what new setup is recommended . I expect these are incorrect but have attached pics of what I have now. Thanks Dan

Looks like late 70-80s with the plastic reservoir .
Are you looking for original or the best upgrade ?

Mine is not numbers matching. The cam is a little bigger than the old purple cam so i expect enough vacuum. I would like something that maybe looks close to original that works properly. There is the other option of hydro assist instead. Not real sure if its worth the money or what brand would be best. Any thoughts?

What's the one you have? Was it on the car? It looks as someone used a adapter to to use the one that is on there.

That's why I'm trying for the more correct option. I purchased the car out of Ohio. A guy had just finished up a restoration and had a dash fire from a short i expect. I didn't like anything I found when i got it so I went back to stripping to bare metal and starting over , Now with a 4 speed. I know his mess is wrong . It should have a flat booster but i don't know if they make anything close that's available and what spacers and such will work. I have the back to this point. The engine and trans is ready to set the car on but I would like to finish the brakes and lines before the 440 takes the working space away. There is always the second option of a hydro set up but it wont look as close. Dan

For reference here is an original 1970 booster which is what would have been on your car when new. The oval or football shaped cutout around the pushrod is the tipoff. This allowed the original master cylinder to bolt on properly.

and
MOPAR 2229171 DISC MASTER CYLINDER (ORIGINAL - REBUILT)
Very expensive nowadays.

For a lower cost option these would probably be your best bet, this is a 71-74 style Bendix, looks very similar, doesn't have the cutout around the pushrod but not a problem if not using an original 70 master cylinder. The eye for the pedal linkage hookup is also smaller than the 70 but I think you can work around that. This is a great price for a rebuilt IMO-

And this aftermarket master cylinder is a good option, paint it black to match the booster and you'll have something stock appearing.
